Frequently Asked Questions
Where do we meet, and where do we park?
All trips leave from the floating dock at Loggerhead South Miami Marina, inside Black Point Park & Marina, 24775 SW 87th Ave, Homestead, FL 33032. Free private parking is available at Loggerhead Marina with a parking pass until the lot fills. If it's full, there's paid public parking at Black Point Marina. Where is the Biscayne National Park visitor center?
The park's Dante Fascell Visitor Center is at Convoy Point, 9700 SW 328th St, Homestead, FL 33033, next to Homestead Bayfront Marina. That's about 20 minutes south of our dock, so it is not where your trip departs. It's open daily 9 AM to 5 PM, admission is free, and it's worth a visit before or after your trip. Our trips leave from the floating dock at Loggerhead South Miami Marina inside Black Point Park & Marina.

What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 7 days before your trip for a full refund. Inside 7 days, you can reschedule for a later date or forfeit the deposit. To cancel or reschedule, email hello@coastalrunners.com or call/text 305-842-1119. Bookings made through other sites follow that site's cancellation policy.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
We go out rain or shine, since a passing shower or storm can pop up any day in South Florida. If the captain cancels for unsafe weather, you can reschedule or get a full refund. The captain makes the final safety call, before and during the trip.
What should we bring?
Reef-safe sunscreen, mosquito repellent (especially in summer), towels, hats and your favorite food and drinks. A dry bag for phones and cameras is a good idea too. We provide ice and water.
What can we bring aboard?
You're welcome to bring food, drinks and alcohol, just no glass bottles, please. Soft-sided coolers fit best. Both boats have Bluetooth audio for your playlist. See our What to Bring page for the full list.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely. Families are welcome, babies included, and we carry life jackets for every guest. Children under 6 must wear a life jacket whenever the boat is moving.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Fishing licenses for up to 4 anglers are included on our fishing trips, along with bait, chum, all fishing gear and fish cleaning. Lobstering licenses are included for up to 4 guests.
Can everyone swim and snorkel?
Swimming and snorkeling are open to guests up to 275 lbs (125 kg) who can climb a vertical marine ladder back onto the boat on their own. Guests over the limit are still welcome aboard to cruise and relax. Just let us know when you book.
Is there a waiver?
Yes. When you book, each adult agrees to our Liability Waiver, and a parent or guardian agrees for each minor. We'll also ask for the full names and ages of everyone in your group.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity isn't included in the trip price. If you enjoyed your day on the water, a 20% tip for your captain and crew is customary and always appreciated.
Do you offer any discounts?
We love giving back. Military, veterans, police, first responders, teachers, nurses, Miami-Dade residents, nonprofits and school groups get 10% off. Returning guests get 10% off their next trip, and Monday-to-Thursday trips get 10% off too. Mention it when you book and show a valid ID at the dock. One discount per booking.
Do you provide snorkel gear?
Yes. Snorkel gear (mask, snorkel and fins) is provided and cleaned after every trip. You're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Will you take photos of our trip?
Only if you check the optional Photo & Video Release box on the booking form. If it's unchecked, we won't take any photos or videos of your trip.
