Discover Biscayne National Park

ABOUT US
At Coastal Runners, we believe the best way to see Miami is from the water. Our private charters explore Biscayne National Park: the historic lighthouse at Boca Chita Key, turquoise sandbars, and reefs made for snorkeling. When the season's right, we also head out for fishing and lobstering. Every trip is just your group and your captain, with no crowds and no rush.

Boca Chita Key: The Jewel of Biscayne National Park

Just across Biscayne Bay, Boca Chita Key is one of the most beautiful stops in South Florida. Its historic lighthouse stands over a quiet harbor, there's a small beach for wading, and a half-mile trail circles the island through tropical greenery. When harbor space allows, we tie up and you can step ashore to explore at your own pace. On the ride out, keep an eye on the water: wading birds, dolphins and even manatees are often part of the trip. It's an easy, unforgettable taste of the national park, and a favorite for families and first-time visitors.

OUR TEAM
We're a small, local crew, and that's the point. You'll deal directly with the captain from your first email to the moment we tie up back at the dock. Clean, well-kept boats, the gear you need, and an easygoing day planned around your group.
What's Included & FAQ
Everything you need for a great day on the water, already on board.
What's included on every trip:
• Your private captain
• Life jackets for every guest
• Snorkel gear, snorkel vests and pool noodles
• Ice and bottled water
• Onboard toilet and shade on both boats
What to bring:
• Reef-safe sunscreen
• Mosquito repellent (especially in summer)
• Towels, a hat and sunglasses
• Your favorite food and drinks
How many people can come?
Up to 6 guests per boat, so it's always a private trip for your group.
Where do we leave from?
The floating dock at Loggerhead South Miami Marina, the private marina inside Black Point Park & Marina, 24777 SW 87th Ave, Homestead, FL 33032. We'll send exact meeting details when you book.
Is there a bathroom on board?
Yes. Both Mako My Day, our Mako 253, and Sea Casita, our Beneteau Flyer 10, have an onboard toilet and shade.
Can we bring kids and babies?
Absolutely. Families are welcome, babies included, and we carry life jackets for every guest.
What happens if it rains?
We go out rain or shine, since a passing shower or storm can pop up any day in South Florida. If the captain cancels for unsafe weather, you can reschedule or get a full refund.
What's your cancellation policy?
A $300 deposit holds your date. Cancel at least 7 days before your trip for a full refund. Inside 7 days, you can reschedule for a later date or forfeit the deposit.
Can we go ashore at Boca Chita Key?
Yes, whenever there's space in the harbor. You can enjoy the beach, the half-mile trail and the historic lighthouse.
Will we see wildlife?
Often! Birds, dolphins and manatees are regular sightings in Biscayne Bay, though nature keeps her own schedule.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. Bring whatever you like; we provide the ice and water.
Is there a weight limit?
For everyone's safety, guests who plan to swim or snorkel must be under 275 lbs. That's the same limit the Biscayne National Park Institute uses for in-water activities, and it keeps climbing our boarding ladder back onto the boat safe. Guests over the limit are still welcome aboard to cruise and relax. Just let us know when you book.
Do I need to be able to climb a ladder?
If you swim or snorkel, yes. Getting back on the boat means climbing a vertical marine ladder on your own.
